Who doesn’t love a good romantic movie? Anyone who says they don’t is most probably lying. We all love a good ending, even though we most probably know what’s going to happen.
However, in today’s article I will be giving you a list of romantic movies that you MUST see. They are enjoyable, funny and sometimes sad, but you can bet that there is always love involved.
I have personally watched each one of these, so I can vouch for how good they are.
How to Lose A Guy in 10 Days
If you haven’t heard of this movie, where have you been?
With a cast involving Kate Hudson and Matthew McConaughey, you couldn’t go wrong.
This pair have worked on various films together and have great on-screen chemistry. They are both funny and work well together.
How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days is one of the best romantic films out there, it’s something different and has a twist in it that the audience is aware of but not the characters.
You will seriously get a laugh out of this.
Must Love Dogs
This is an older movie and based on 2 divorcees who meet in an awkward situation.
Surprisingly, dogs aren’t a main feature of the film, but they are included and if you don’t watch it for the romance, watch it for the dogs.
This movie includes an all-star cast of Diane Lane, John Cusack, Christopher Plummer, Dermot Mulroney and much more.
It follows the dating life of 1 divorcee and how her sisters’ setup her up with an online dating profile, without her knowledge. To find out how she meets her match, give it a watch!
Love Actually
Now, I’m positive most of you have heard of this movie, but it needs to be on the list. It’s perfect for this time of year because it includes a Christmas element and of course, we’re nearing that time again.
It’s a romantic comedy that follows the lives a quite a few characters; whether they are single, married, widowed, cheating on their partner or chasing after someone.
You follow along their lives and see how they end up being connected.
This cast includes, Bill Nighy, Hugh Grant, Emma Thompson, Liam Neeson, Colin Firth and many more.
The Holiday
Again, this is a lovely movie to watch coming up to Christmas.
The Holiday is about 2 ladies (Cameron Diaz and Kate Winslet) who decide to swap homes for the holiday because of their failing love lives. Diaz travels to England and Winslet to the USA.
You follow them as they meet new people and experience new things. Of course, there are trials and tribulations along the way, but if you love a good romantic movie – watch this.
The Notebook
What would this list be without this movie?
Based on a Nicholas Sparks novel; this is possibly one of the best love stories out there. Fair warning though, you will cry. Rachel McAdams acts as the female lead and Ryan Gosling as the male lead – could it get any better?
It’s an amazingly romantic movie and set way back. The 2 characters are matched to perfection, whether they know it or not. Without saying too much, I would highly recommend watching this movie (even men have told me they enjoyed it).
So, there you have it 5 top romantic movies to watch! Of course, there are so many more – who knows, I might even do another list, keep an eye out!
