What better time to indulge in the scenic snowy landscapes of The Long Dark than in the run up to Christmas. Despite the odds of it snowing this Christmas being very unlikely, you can live out your dreams of a white Christmas through the wilderness survival game.
This month, Hinterland Studio announced an update to their first person survival experience, The Long Dark, which provides a variety of new features to both the DLC and the main game.
They added a safe house customisation feature which entails over 100 in-game locations can now be personalised to each player’s liking.
The new update also offers DLC owners a new member of wildlife — the cougar. This adorable creature is best admired from a safe distance, unless you’re a player that enjoys certain death encounters.
The new update added a global wildlife refresh — which is free for all owners of the main game. This adds a fresh aspect to the game as all predators and prey now spawn in new regions.
Tales DLC owners are given a special treat this update as the instant camera has been introduced — you can live out your dreams of being a wildlife photographer in-game and experiment with different film stocks!
Trader’s have also been introduced which offers DLC owners a chance to trade for rare items that have been seen before in-game!
These are just some of the most exciting additions to The Long Dark’s update which is just in time for the build up to Christmas.
The game is available on steam, XBOX, Playstation, and Switch for any players looking for a relaxing wilderness experience or any players looking for a challenge! The Long Dark has something in it for everyone for all difficulty levels.
