Ah, summer – the season of sun-kissed skin, beachy breezes and sizzling romance. Whether you are going on a casual ice cream date, a beach trip or for a picnic on the green, your outfit can make all the difference in your confidence and the energy you bring to your spontaneous fling. Afterall, if you’re going to be making questionable decisions, you might as well be making them in style. Welcome to our summer date fashion guide – the only reference you’ll need for nonchalantly impressing your situationship and letting your August slip away in style.

The Ice Cream Date:

This date is essentially the seasonal replacement for grabbing a coffee. This date seems to have a chokehold on the first date scene, dominating dating app DMs from the months of June-August. While this date is cute because of course who doesn’t love ice cream (apologies to our lactose intolerant readers) it can be tricky to decide what to wear.

Since we live in the age of casual relationships it is next to impossible to decide what to wear.

The solution: elevate your jeans.

You are going to want to be comfortable as you are most likely going to be walking around the town centre. So, wearing your favourite , comfortable pair of jeans is a must. The outfit gets elevated through pairing it with a bright summery top and a pair of easy to walk in kitten heels. Match the colour of your top, shoes, and bag to have a put together, elevated casual outfit that doesn’t look like you’ve tried too hard to impress your date. The Beach Trip:

Going on a beach date can be intimidating style wise because you might not be sure what exactly the date will entail. Will you be tanning? Walking? Or even going for an impromptu swim? Despite the unpredictable nature of this beach adventure your outfit can help you be totally prepared. Slap on some SPF 50 and take notes! The easiest way to approach this outfit is by using your swimsuit as the base of your outfit. A comfortable bikini is key. On top of this, layer a comfortable pair of jean shorts and a linen button down. Throw on a cute pair of sunnies and with a big beach bag and you are set!

The Picnic Date:

A picnic is an iconic summer fling date. The vibes of a picnic in Stephen’s Green on a warm August day are just perfection. This date begs for a sundress and in my humble opinion there is no better shop to get a sundress then Hollister. The dresses are just such good quality and totally worth the spend.

We hope that this summer date style guide has given you some fashion inspo and taken the pressure off choosing the perfect outfit for the next time you see your summer fling. Don’t be afraid to live for the hope of it all this summer, or your August will slip away like a bottle of wine!
