That’s a wrap for The National Student Media Awards this year, and what a night it was! Signe Lury picked picked up the Short Film Script of the Year award for their script, The Offer. Lola Fleming picked up the Feature Film Script of the Year award for her script, Kindred Spirits.
These two awards were sponsored by Screen Ireland. Screen Ireland fosters the talent of Irish filmmakers around the world by funding and producing award-winning titles. Screen Ireland has contributed to the funding of films such as Brooklyn, Room, Sing Street and The Lobster in recent years. Most recently they helped fund the production of the Academy Award nominated animation, Wolfwalkers.
On top of this, Screen Ireland also provides schemes to aid aspiring filmmakers with pitching and acquiring resources for their career. Their schemes also include screen training, local film festivals and short films and animation.
