It’s a sad day for Directioners as they wake to the news One Direction star Liam Payne (31) has passed away. The singer fell from a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires. His death comes only two weeks after attending former bandmate Niall Horan’s concert.
Fans took to the scene where they have been lighting candles, adorning the streets with flowers, and singing One Direction songs as tribute.
Payne is known for being one of five members of the global sensation One Direction. What were once 5 individual teenagers looking for a big break, became the boy band One Direction on British entertainment show The X Factor in 2010.
After the band went on hiatus in 2016, Payne launched his own solo career. This started with his single Strip That Down which was released in 2017, and became a worldwide hit.
