The first step of every journey begins with packing your bags. But where can you find the most appropriate luggage for your travels? Some bags are better than others for overnight stays while others are more suited to bring on a fortnight-long holiday.

Bag City

Bag City is an Irish-owned brand devoted to bringing the best baggage to all customers, especially college students and travellers. With multiple locations all over Dublin, shoppers can find a suitable bag for any travel occasion at competitive prices and great convenience.

For international use, Bag City sells 10kg cabin bags for as little as fifty euro. There is a wider range of larger 10kg+ suitcases with a variety of different features. Hardshell suitcases tend to be more expensive than the softer materials, but some bags have additional zips to expand packing space. Bag City also stocks four-wheeled bags which are much easier to transport across airports and train stations. The bags come in different colours and aesthetic designs that appeal to the masses. There is no specific target market at Bag City. Anyone can purchase a bag for any occasion because there is something for everyone.

Khaki backpacks and darker-toned rucksacks come in a variety of sizes and are very suitable for outdoor outings. Features include pockets to fit any and all supplies for a camping or hiking trip or even a long weekend. Backpacks at Bag City are priced between twenty-five and seventy euros, depending on your preferences and intended use. Children’s schoolbags are relatively cheap at around twenty euros per pack and are decorated with recognisable media of superheroes and Barbie.

Additional travel accessories like digital luggage scales are also available to ensure you’re complying with airline weight restrictions. These devices are accurate, easily transportable, and very affordable at fifteen euro. The more spacious suitcases are priced from sixty-five euro upwards, but it is considered a one-off decent investment to get a sturdy suitcase that will last a long time.

TK Maxx

With its renowned reputation as a bargain bin, TK Maxx includes a sturdy line of suitcases in its wares. The Luggage & Travel section is lined with luxury brand names and high-quality accessories for all your needs. While the prices are somewhat higher than other locations, you might find the items to be of higher durability than your previous options.

Suitcases range from softside to hardshell casings with beautiful designs and extended storage capacities. These cases come from well-known reputable brands like Moncrief, Enrico Benetti, Bon Gout, and Samsonite. There is an expectation of longevity when purchasing these cases for higher price ranges. Suitcases and cabin cases start being priced at around sixty euros and can reach as high as one hundred and fifty euros. This entirely depends on the size, features, and brand of the case. However, you can find smaller bags that are sold at reasonable prices or take advantage of sales to get an entire set of cases at a bundled price. This is a regular occurrence at TK Maxx, especially around Christmas and the New Year.

TK Maxx also offers beautiful weekend bags for around forty euros which are very handy for short getaways and nights out with friends. These bags tend to be made of leather or waterproof fabric in cream, black, brown, and blue. Brands such as Elle Sport, Brics, and Juicy Couture offer suitable smaller bags that can be easily brought on short-term hops and fit everything you need. Additional travel accessories are on offer at TK Maxx such as toiletry cases, travel pillows, fanny packs, and umbrellas.

Dunnes Stores

While Dunnes Stores does sometimes offer large suitcases, it is really a better choice for smaller travel bags that are more suited for short getaways or an overnight experience. Priced between forty and one-hundred-and-fifteen euro, Dunnes Stores’ hardshell and softer suitcases are purely functional in nature.

The travel bags at Dunnes tend to be on the cheaper side, though there are usually one or two more expensive options. Quilted gym bags, backpacks, and packing cubes are on offer and ideal for a weekend away with friends. They can even be repurposed for regular use, i.e. to the gym, work, college, etc. The holdall bags and purses are more decorative and can easily be paired with your favourite outfit for a night out!

Believe it or not, Penneys do sell cabin-sized luggage for cheaper prices than most of the other brands listed here. If you’re not exactly swimming in cash, then Penneys is always a good option to browse and see if you can find something to suit your needs on a short-term basis. Penneys is a low-cost alternative to most of the luggage options listed here. From forty-five euros upwards, wheeled suitcases and cabin bags are available to any target market. This is an ideal option for last-minute deals on larger cases, but customers can find lovely purses and handbags for everyday use.

Penneys also sells many travel accessories which you can use to personalise your bag. Keychains and passport covers make your items distinguishable from everyone else’s in luggage claim so you are less likely to lose them. Travel bottle sets and packing cubes are typically cheaper in Penneys and enable a much easier packing experience for students and young adults. Comfortable travel pillows are always a good addition to a trip where you spend lots of time on planes, trains, or automobiles. At Penneys, you can find all these last-minute items at low cost and great convenience.
