The iconic biannual event is back! One of the biggest events in the fashion calendar is on from September 17th. Yes, I am talking about the Milan Fashion Week, where the most important designers are showcasing their latest designs and collections.

In this year’s collection, the main focus is to blend innovation with sustainability. A lot of designers have the goal of creating eco-friendly products while focusing on creativity and design.

This year has strangely seen the comeback of creases, with wrinkled collars, shirts and other pieces. Iconic brands like Prada, MaxMara and Ferragamo, who presented trench coats puckered in lines and wrinkles.

But remarkable is the collection of Bottega Veneta, that goes out of their usual “perfectionist” ensembles and presents a new collection of pieces that are purposely wrinkled, as if the models left the house in a hurry.

Another key moment is the Diesel runway, which was showing and promoting a sustainable and more open mindset , and as a tribute to denim.

It showed many many different ways to wear denim of all types! Featuring famous supermodels such as Alex consani.

Even their makeup is revolutionary, including the surrealism as a theme of the runway with white/neon coloured eye contacts to give off the “alien” vibe.

Other important brands that were significant during the Fashion week were Ferragamo, who also introduced the “balletcore”, showcasing loads of different pieces that reminded me of a ballerina.

For Versace, a good throwback to the 90s, because Donatella this time decided to re-imagine the iconic metallic dress from the 1990s. Along with that metallic pattern there is a change in Versace, showing vivid colours such as orange, purple and green. Overall the week has been really interesting because we have seen a lot of different changes in many brands, while some remained the iconic way they were.

Which brand is the most iconic of them all? That, we’ll see in the next season!
