After ruthlessly knocking out Polish fighter Korina Kopinska in her debut fight last Saturday at Wembley Arena, Katie Taylor says she ‘’can’t wait’’ for her next fight on December 10.
Taylor’s next opponent is Switzerland’s Viviane Obenauf who she will fight in Manchester as part of the undercard of the high profile heavyweight title fight between Anthony Joshua and Eric Molina.
Her Swiss opponent will be a tough test for Taylor who has just entered the world of professional boxing after a glamorous medal winning career in the amateur class.
Obenauf has an impressive record with nine victories to her name and just one defeat but Taylor is looking forward to the challenge.
‘’Saturday in London was an amazing experience and I can’t wait to fight in Manchester.’’ said Taylor. ‘’Boxing in front of 21,000 is a new experience for me and I’m looking forward ro the next step of the journey.’’
Taylor made light work of her opponent Korina Kopinska on Saturday last with a knockout just a few seconds into the third round.
Katie impressed with an outstanding performance in her first fight in the professional ranks with her speed alone sure to spark fear into other fighters.
Her new promoter Eddie Hearn spoke of the seriousness Katie possesses before a fight and last Saturday was no different. ‘’I went into the dressing room before the fight and I didn’t really know what to say. Katie is all business, all serious.’’ he said.
Katie will be hoping she can bring that same tempo and tenacity from her debut into her fight with Obenauf on December 10 at the Manchester Arena and also live on Sky Sports Box Office.
