The Smedia awards 2019 took place last Thursday with BCFE’s scooping the award for Short Animation for their dark humoured film ‘Whackjobs’. To present the awards we had director of Boulder Media Paul O’Flanagan.
Boulder Media has become one of Irelands largest animation studios since its inception in 2000. Boulder Media productions went on to receive nominations for BAFTA’s, Emmys, Annie’s and IFTAS among others. They have worked on projects such as the Childrens Tv Series ‘Fosters Home for Imaginary Friends’ and an animation of ‘Danger Mouse’ among others. It was fantastic to have such a recognised and successful animation studio with us on the night.
Whackjobs was directed by Josh Hogan and focuses on the relationship between a spoiled little girl and her mother. A big congratulations to Joshua, Gavin, Lee, Lucia and Owen on their win.
