Going back to uni can be a busy and stressful time. Therefore, it is important that you have your self-care routine in order and your skin properly taken care of. Having a good, calming skin care routine that you can do at night can be a great way to unwind and take care of yourself reducing the risk of stressful spots and dark under eye circles. Everyone will have different skincare needs, but we are going to give you a basic skincare routine to follow while recommending some of our favourite products along the way!

Step 1: Cleanse

Whether you wear makeup or not, cleansing at the end of the day is super important. Your face accumulates dirt and grime throughout the day, the same as any other part of your body. Cleansing your skin in the morning and evening will make a world of a difference in reducing impurities on your skin. The CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser is a great option which is perfect for normal to dry skin. The Ordinary also have their super popular Squalane Cleanser, which has a gentle formula made for everyday use and for all skin types

Step 2: Toner

Toning should be the second step in your skin care routine. Dab a bit onto a cotton pad and swipe it across for face for a totally refreshing experience. We highly recommend the Caudalie Vinopure Purifying Toner. This toner is ideal for those of you with oily, blemish prone skin. On the contrast, if you’re a dry skin girlie, we highly recommend the Charlotte Tilbury Glow Toner. It reduces the appearance of pores while leaving your skin feeling hydrated and rejuvenated.

Step 3: Serum

Serums act like skin boosters and give you extra support in the areas where you need it most. They target things like fine lines, dryness, and break outs. They are totally worth the splurge and we recommend the Byoma Hydrating Serum. This serum helps to minimise water loss in the skin, and contributes to helping create a stronger kind barrier. It is lightweight and leaves a perfect dewy finish. We also love the classic The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% serum. This serum is popular for a reason, helping to reduce skin blemishes and balance the complexion.

Step 4: Moisturise

Last but not least, moisturiser. This is a super important finishing step to lock in all the hard work that your cleanser, toner and serum have just done. This locks in hydration and keeps your skin looking plump and glowy. We highly recommend Tatcha’s The Dewy Skin Cream. This cream is an investment, but it is so worth it. It helps to give your skin a dewy, healthy glow while plumping the skin and locking in moisture. We also love the Dermalogica Skin Smoothing Cream. This moisturiser is very lightweight and not greasy at all. It also is rich in vitamins C and E which work to refine and brightening the skin all while providing antioxidant protection from environmental damage to the skin.

We hope that these skin care suggestions help you perfect your skincare routine and give you some inspiration ion for some back to college self-care. And don’t forget to wear your SPF!
