Holiday season has finally arrived! Everyone is very excited to pack their suitcases and go to the beach for some sun and relaxation. It’s the perfect time to soak up the sun, enjoy the warm weather, and get a beautiful tan. If you are planning to travel this summer make sure to apply for an ISIC card. This is an internationally recognised form of student ID that cane be used from the age of 16, and gives you access to a variety of discounts.

In this article I will give you some ideas of movies to watch that will get you into the mood of summer, travelling and relaxation. These movies are very simple and light to watch, and in my opinion, they bring a nostalgic sense that reminds you of a beautiful warm summer.

  1. Before Sunrise: If you are a romantic person, I suggest watching this movie. It is about an American boy who meets a French girl during a trip to Europe. Since it is his last day of the journey, he convinces the girl to spend the night with him wandering around Vienna. This is a great movie for hopeless romantics, which brings a sense of sweetness and tenderness, and it is a really great summer movie because it’s really easy to watch!
  2. The Notebook: similarly, this movie is for hopeless romantics! It is a beautiful story about a poor man who falls in love with Ally, a woman coming from a wealthy family. Due to societal rules, they have to keep their love to themselves, but their passion eventually brings them back closer. Its beautiful storytelling keeps the viewer engaged and it teaches about passionate love.
  3. 500 days of Summer: Now, Contrary to the previous movies, this film shows a different view of love. Tom meets Summer in his office, as she starts her new job as an assistant. While the narrative unfolds, Tom describes the 500 days he spent with Summer and how they didn’t go well at the end. (I do not recommend it if you are in a situationship). This movie has a good romance/dramatic touch to the narration and also a great witty humour that makes it a good movie for the summer.
  4. Call Me by your name : This is a classic for summer! It is a great romantic movie that shows the amazing landscapes of northern Italy. It is a story about Elio, a teenage boy who develops feelings for Oliver, an american man who works for his father as an assistant. This romance will bring tears but also teaches the audience about love and friendship.

These four movies are great example of films that have that summer nostalgic feeling. I hope you enjoy getting into the travel mood!
