Best Dressed:

Bella Hadid fuels some winter inspiration for all of us with her almost all-black attire as she hit the streets of New York. She paired a simple outfit of jeans and a tank top with a statement leopard print fur coat, pointy ankle boots and the smallest cutest little black handbag.

Designers Quarrel Over Whether Or Not To Dress Melania:

It appears that not a single platform can escape the ordeal that was the US presidential election- not even the fashion industry. Now, designers have come forward and within a few weeks since the election, have announced that they will not dress Melania Trump, the future First Lady. Sophie Theallet, Michelle Obama’s favourite designer, released a lengthy statement last week, saying that she refuses to dress Melania, and other designers should do the same. She claimed that the Theallet brand ‘celebrates diversity’ and will not dress the First Lady on the grounds of her husband’s ‘rhetoric of racism, sexism, and xenophobia’. She isn’t the only one to leave Melania’s closet empty- Mrs. Trump actually had to wear pieces that she bought herself during key events in the lead up to the election and she wasn’t greeted with usual acknowledgements of gratitude from designers on social media. Jeremy Scott, the outlandish Moschino creative director claimed that ‘we don’t know Melania’. Tommy Hilfiger, however, has told the media that ‘designers should be proud to dress her’. I don’t think the glossy Slovenian will fit in well with the fashion world in the years to come- designers don’t seem to support either her non-existent stand on issues which Michelle Obama took pride in doing, or her controversial husband.

Product Of The Week:

Sleek Solstice Highlighter Palette
sleek
I’m perfectly aware that this has become the ultimate cult favourite, but it’s a product that I talk about at every single opportunity because it’s just that good. As a high-street brand, this is truly an exceptional highlighter palette that Sleek have released for its price- it features four fabulous shades, two marbled lilac and peach shades which are undoubtedly the stars of the show, a shimmery cream and a shimmery banana powder. I’m a girl who is probably too proud of her highlighter- I contour as much as anyone else, but it’s the highlight that makes each of my makeup looks. I get compliments on it a lot and its funny because highlighter is the easiest part of doing makeup and it’s always this palette that I use, especially the peachy shade. The lavender is a bit too light for me, but I use it when I want to be extra glowy, however the peachy shade is my go to. I even grab it instead of my Mac Soft and Gentle, which alone speaks volumes.
