Ellen DeGeneres has revealed she is considering leaving her popular daytime TV show to focus on her film career and to spend more time with wife Portia De Rossi.
The show debuted in 2003 and has ran for a total of 16 seasons, despite being close to declining Ellen recently extended her contract through to the summer of 2020.
Ellen told The New York Times she had been mulling over her plans for the future and whether to walk from the show after her wife encouraged her to take on other projects she is passionate about.
Despite being the highest paid talk show host with the show earning $87.5 million dollars between June 2017 and June 2018 the sixty-year-old has already branched out from the hit show and is currently in the process of producing several up and coming films.
Ellen’s first stand-up comedy special “Ellen Degeneres: Relatable” will air on Netflix December 18th.
